News Nürburgring Nordschleife coming to iRacing in 2015

The Nürburgring Nordschleife is one of the most notorious racetracks in the world, a challenging 12.9 mile circuit that has claimed the lives of countless drivers. It's also a staple track in racing games, having appeared in most major titles over the years. And yet it's been conspicuously absent in the PC's most popular racing simulation: iRacing.
After previous speculation prompted by iRacing sponsoring the Nurburgring 1000, it's now been confirmed that the Nürburgring will be joining iRacing's 65+ laser-scanned tracks next year. Both the 20.8 km (12.9 mile) Nordschleife and the 5.15 km (3.2 mile) Grand Prix Stecke will be included, along with a combination track linking the two circuits.
“iRacing’s partnership with the Nürburgring marries state-of-the-art motorsports simulation with what is widely regarded as the world’s greatest race circuit,” says Steve Myers, Executive Vice President and Executive Producer of iRacing.com. “We are honored and pleased to be able to make the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix Stecke available to our members who will be tremendously excited by this news."

As you would expect, iRacing's digital recreation of the Green Hell has been painstakingly laser-scanned for maximum authenticity. It's not the first time this has been achieved, however – Turn10 recently rescanned the Nürburgring for Forza Motorsport 5, and Kunos are busy preparing to add it to Assetto Corsa later this year.
