The Forza franchise is well-renowned for its flurries of post-release DLC support, with the developer striving to keep its car roster fresh with contemporary cars that are relevant today, timeless classics and even some racing game car debuts. Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One is no different – this week saw the release of the Mobil 1 pack adding a range of all-new cars to the franchise. Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360, however, is a different story.
Turn10 has today revealed that the that the Xbox 360 version, developed by Sumo Games, won't be receiving any DLC, as clarified on the official Forza forum by community manager Brian Ekberg.
"I’ve seen a lot of questions from community members about certain features and functionality on the Xbox 360 version of the game, including questions regarding DLC and Forza Rewards for the 360 version of the game," said Ekberg. "To clarify: We are currently planning to release DLC only for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2."
Sadly, Forza Rewards benefits, including perks gained by building your Forza Rewards Tier Level scores, are also not available in the 360 version.
"Forza Rewards benefits are only available in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. This means that Xbox 360 players will not receive Forza Rewards credits or cars. In addition, progress in the 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 does not count towards your Forza Rewards Tier Level score. Only progress in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 will count towards your overall Forza Score (and Tier Level) in Forza Rewards."
Of course, it's obvious that the Xbox One version was always always going to be the lead platform, but it's still a blow to 360 owners, particularly as Forza Horizon received a hefty does of DLC for months on-end. Horizon 2 follows the same pattern, with car packs planned for the next 6 months on Xbox One.
