A new trailer for Nintendo’s upcoming Pokémon Sun and Moon has been released today and it gave us a first glimpse of the new starter Pokémon for the popular franchise seventh generation.

Fans of the series will already know the traditional mechanic for each game is the player (or trainer) is given a choice of your first Pokémon from three options: a fire, water or a grass type.  As with previous iterations, Pokémon Sun and Moon keeps this mechanic and today we got a look at the three brand new Pocket Monsters on show.

Secondly we meet Litten a fire type Pokémon who is a fire cat type. Litten is described as logical but also passionate, remaining cool-headed and doesn’t show its emotions on the surface.

Alola, Sun and Moons new reason has a tropical feel to it complete with a volcano 

The trailer below goes on to hint at a few more of the new Pokémon we can expect to see in the new game. The clip, which names the new region Alola, suitable for its Hawaiian feel, highlights a number of new or evolved types of Pokémon we can expect to see in the title as well as giving a glimpse at the legendary Pokémon whom will reside in each version respectively.
 

 
Pokémon Sun and Moon will be released on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS on November 18th 2016.
