Our latest look at Gran Turismo 6 from E3 takes us round the new mountainous Matterhorn Circuit, as part of GT6's seven new locations which also include Silverstone.

Unfortunately, while we were able to get direct audio, the music sound settings were dialed up and drowned out the engine sounds, so you'll have to make do with Alan's ramblings on this occassion.

While the graphics still look only moderately improved from GT5 in our eyes at this stage, there's no denying the scope and stomach-churning slopes of the Swiss-based Matterhorn Circuit have been perfectly replicated in GT6 with Polyphony's scrupulous eye for detail, which is particularly impressive to see on curent-gen hardware. We're loving the views in particular, even if the background isn't rendered unlike the vistas seen in the next-gen Forza Motorsport 5

Our last GT6 video received a lot of criticism for its sound effects that showed little improvement from GT5. Sadly, the same is true in this video too, but don't be too discouraged – Polyphony have stated that the sound effects in the E3 demo are placeholders (the music soundtrack taken from GT5 in the video could be a giveaway), leaving us to wonder if the notoriously weedy engine sounds and recycled tyre screeching effects will receive a more drastic overhaul than we were originally led to believe. With a demo due for release next month, it hopefully won't be long until we find out.
