More offline compatibility will headline Gran Turismo Sport's next free update, due for release on 27th November 2017.

Though not the only addition in the v1.06 update, the extra offline functionality is the most prominent feature of the patch. Upon installing the update, players will be able to participate in Gran Turismo Sport's Campaign challenges without the need to be connected to the Internet – though a connection will be required if new progress is to be saved.

A mandatory online requirement for the game's Scapes photomode and livery editor will also be removed in the v1.06 update. However, as with the aforementioned Campaign challenges, an Internet connection will be required if players wish to preserve any photos or car paintschemes created in Gran Turismo Sport.

In addition to the offline features, Gran Turismo Sport's car roster will be fleshed out by a trio of new cars. Headlined by the recently-revealed Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo concept car, the automotive line-up also consists of the 2016-specification Audi R18 e-tron quattro Le Mans Prototype and the Shelby Cobra 427 – the latter replacing the Audi Quattro S1 rally car as the oldest vehicle in Gran Turismo Sport.

The v1.06 update won't be the only free post-launch content drop that Gran Turismo Sport will be graced with in 2017. In December 2017, the PS4-exclusive racing game will be graced with another patch, which further expands upon the offline functionality introduced in the v1.06 update.
