The iRacing PC sim racing platform will be used to host NASCAR's new Youth Esports Series racing competition.
Open worldwide to entrants between 13 and 16 years of age, the NASCAR Youth Esports Series aims to provide competitors with an "unparalleled simulation experience", whilst also offering a route for younger iRacing users with "professional racing aspirations" to hone their racecraft.
All eligible entrants will be able to participate in the NASCAR Youth Esports Series' 'Regular Season', which will officially commence in June 2018. The 50 users who acquire the most points across the eight event in the Regular Season will proceed to the four play-off rounds, with the 30 spots available in the final again being determined by the players' points tallies.
More information on how many race events will make up the NASCAR Youth Esports Series, though it has been confirmed the competition will consist of single and heat races on "virtual renderings of iconic short tracks". The final event will also be hosted on iRacing's rendition of the Martinsville Speedway.
Additional details on the NASCAR Youth Esports Series are expected to be made in the coming weeks.
