Milestone's WRC 4 may be sliding round the last corner of its development, but that hasn't stopped them from announcing their next motorsport game. This time we're back on two wheels in MXGP: The Official Motocross Videogame which hails Milestones' comeback in motocross, just as the well-received MotoGP '13 hailed their comeback for circuit bike racing.
Not much has been revealed yet other than a tantalising teaser trailer, a Spring 2014 release window and a list of the available platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, and Vita. Shame to see Milestone won't be embracing the next generation consoles just yet, then. All the riders, teams, bikes and rules from the official MXGP 2013 calendar will be included, along with a redesigned career mode
“This new rebranding brings a lot of new features that we will unveil during the next months and for sure will amuse the Motocross fans," Luisa Bixio, Milestone Marketing and Sales Director, commented. "As for the previous Milestone titles, MXGP will be characterized by loyalty to the license and with realistic simulation.”
Milestone's last stint with the genre with MUD: FIM Motocross Championship probably won't go down in the developer's greatest hits thanks to its lackluster physics and presentation , and the overly dramatised trailer for MXGP leaves a lot to be desired, admittedly. Hopefully their collaboration with the official license will prove us wrong and continue in the vein of MotoGP '13's quality and authenticity.
