When it comes to rider animations, MotoGP has always been lacking. Bail off the bike, and the embarassingly primitive physics left a lot to be desired. Not so in MotoGP '13.
As we've discovered in the various gameplay videos released over the past few months, Milestone have gone to great lengths to ensure that the rider animations are as authentic as possible. This new making of behind the scenes video reveals the painstaking process of using motion capture to achieve the realistic rider animations, which is a testament to the developer's dedication.
For the first time in a MotoGP game, a stuntman was enlisted to act out every possible physical nuance that comes from riding a superbike, from straight stances and leaning into corners, to tumbling across the track after a nasty fall.
It's this astute attention to detail that makes us confident Milestone are onto a winner and makes MotoGP '13 potentially stand out as the most authentic bike racing game in years.
