Project CARS's crowd-sourced 'WMD' members are now able to try out the first ever McLarens in the still-in-development racing title, courtesy of Slightly Mad Studios' latest update build for the game.
Following in the wake of Slightly Mad's recent confirmation it had secured the licence to feature McLaren road and racing cars in Project CARS, the most recent development builds for the eventual cross-platform rival for the likes of the Gran Turismo and Forza franchises allows every WMD member to try out the iconic McLaren F1 supercar, along with the homologated MP4-12C GT3 racing car.
Being early renderings, there's still some work for Slightly Mad to do before the F1 and 12C GT3 are fully representative of what will be featured in the retail-ready game. That said, as you can see from the embedded gameplay videos below, the 'Work In Progress' models themselves are already on par with what we've come to expect from the graphically jaw-dropping pre-alpha build of Project CARS.
No other details were mentioned on the three other McLarens that were included in the licencing deal, but – given the seemingly quick turn-around – it's likely we won't have to wait too long before the full Macca roster ends up being implemented to Project CARS' increasingly diverse car roster.
