The free-to-play racer has broken all first-week records for Nintendo dwarfing other titles many times over as seen in the chart below courtesy of Sensor Tower.
As Mario Kart Tour features micro-transactions, you may be wondering how much revenue has been made in the title’s first week. The latest data suggests players have spent a total of $12.7 million – putting the title third for Nintendo behind Fire Emblem Heroes ($28.2 million) and Super Mario Run ($16.1 million) for the first-week turnover.
Android (not surprisingly) is the most popular platform for Mario Kart Tour, with 53.5 million downloads – equating to 59.5% of total downloads (iOS clocked in at 36.5 million downloads).
Conversely, App Store players generated most of the revenue spending $9.6 million, (75.5%), Google Play accounted for $3.1 million (24.5%).
