News Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition includes swanky Spiky Shell statue

It's not uncommon for major game releases to get separate limited editions with an assortment of collectible goodies at the cost of a premium price tag. Mario Kart 8 will be no exception.
Nintendo has announced that the Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition will come bundled with a swanky statue of the Spiny Shell, a staple power-up item that's been featured throughout the Mario Kart series since Mario Kart 64 that can be used to take out the player in first place. It's well presented, too, sitting atop of a classy black transparent frame.
The Limited Edition will set you back £60 and has only been confirmed for Europe so far where it can be preordered from GAME for £59.99, who are also offering a bundle which includes the official Mario Kart 8 Racing Wheel. Existing preorders can also be upgraded.
Additional preorder perks have also been confirmed for the UK and Ireland for select retailers, regardless of whether you order the Standard or Limited Edition. Preordering from Very or Littlewoods will bag you a A Golden Dash Mushroom keyring, while preordering from Grainger Games, Game Centre, 365 Games (online only), Game Seek (online only), Base.com (online only), Playtime, The Games Exchange, That Game Shop, Gamescene or Xpress Games will land you a Bullet Bill keyring.
The Nintendo UK online store are also an exclusive Mario Kart 8 bundle which will include the Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition Spiny Shell bundle, a Bullet Bill T-Shirt and the Red Shell keyring.

Furthermore, anyone who buys the Wii U digital re-release of the original SNES Mario Kart from the NIntendo eShop, due for release on March 27th, will get a £5.49 discount off of Mario Kart 8 if they also purchase it from the eShop. The offer is valid until June 30th.
