Celebrity cameos in video games are nothing new, but this one is pretty unusual – Formula One star Lewis Hamilton is appearing in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Hamilton has filmed six scenes for Infinite Warfare which is released on November 4th, where he appears as a character. He appeared on French TV station M6 in an interview, where he described how he had to film "extreme" facial expressions and record dialogue in a Los Angeles studio.
As reported by the ESPN, footage shows Hamilton wandering around a green screen studio spouting lines such as "Captain, news reports coming on about the gateway if you want to join us" and "I'm right behind you".
"I remember growing up with Super Mario, where the graphics were outdated at the time, but that's how it was back in the day," he told M6. "It's crazy to see how far it has come – it's insane."
"I loved it, it was an incredible experience. I'm incredibly honoured to be part of this game – I grew up playing it."
Other stars to appear in the Call of Duty series include actors Jason Statham, Kevin Spacey and rapper Ice Cube. How do you feel about Hamilton appearing in a Call of Duty game?
