Just in case you may have forgotten the existence of the rollcage-esque indie racer GRIP, I present to you the very latest gameplay trailer (below).
The gameplay trailer entitled “Full Kontakt” showcases the musician Full Kontakt who has their music featured on GRIP's soundtrack. As you might imagine with a fast-paced racer, the music is of a similarly high tempo and matches the action seamlessly.
GRIP is available on Steam Early Access (and has been for almost a year now) and features 4 vehicles, 6 game modes, 5 racetracks, 2 arenas, 15 carkour courses, 4 weapons, 3 powerups and a partridge in a pear tree, okay scrub that last one.
The rollcage-inspired racer recently received an update which included snow weather on Norvos along with a sharpening filter and some other tweaks which you can see in the changelog below. We are very much looking forward to seeing how this game develops and we will of course keep you guys up to date with all the interesting developments.
GRIP v1.1.7 changelog
Car reset code is improved, with very few issues occurring on SkyTrack now
Snowstorm added to FIC Outpost. Let us know what you think! (it looks a little odd when the car is stopped, so keep moving 😉
Sharpening filter added to the graphics options (off/low/med/high). We find this helps make the game more gritty looking. I personally set it to medium, with FXAA enabled.
Large blocking mesh removed from Islands tunnel (was a mistake in the first place)
EMP power-up now used less by AI
