Codemasters has released their very gameplay video for F1 2020. The in-game hot lap takes place at the world-famous Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya track ahead of this weekend’s Virtual Grand Prix at the same circuit, naturally.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya track has undergone some changes and improvements based on player feedback. The final sector has been modified, and the elevation between turns 13 and 14 has changed, bringing the circuit closer to the real thing.

Check out the track in action in the video below which features McLaren’s Carlos Sainz.

On Sunday, 10 May, F1 drivers Charles Leclerc, Alex Albon, Lando Norris, George Russell, Nicholas Latifi and Antonio Giovinazzi will be joined by Sergio Aguero, Thibaut Courtois and Arthur Melo for this weekend’s virtual race which will use the F1 2019 title. You can catch the action live via a broadcast from 6pm (BST).

Codemasters recently announced F1 2020 will release worldwide on July 10, 2020, across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The title will also release on Google Stadia for the first time.

F1 2020 features the new game mode ‘My Team’ allowing players to create their Formula One team (in the format of a driver-manager) who will race alongside other teams in the 2020 season. The two-player split-screen mode makes its return in F1 2020, Codemasters has also confirmed Formula Two content.

This season Lewis Hamilton can equal the Formula One World Championship record of seven wins held by Michael Schumacher. Codemasters celebrates the career of the current holder with a Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition which comes complete with exclusive content and three days early access.

Fans who purchase the F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Edition will get to drive as Michael Schumacher in four of his most iconic cars. Players will also receive exclusive content including themed car liveries and driver customisation items, including a unique podium celebration. The four cars included in the F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Edition are as follows:

  •  1991: Jordan 191
  •  1994: Benetton B194
  •  1995: Benetton B195
  •  2000: Ferrari F1-2000

To celebrate the seventieth anniversary of Formula One, fans who pre-order or purchase the Schumacher Deluxe Edition or the ‘F1 2020: F1 Seventy Edition’ will receive an exclusive set of in-game items. A Limited Edition F1 2020 Steelbook will also be available in local markets via selected retailers.

Kind of depressing that the official F1 game needs “player feedback” to get the circuits right.
