Kunos Simulazioni has announced that the lustrous La Ferrari will be available in Assetto Corsa when the final 1.0 version rolls out some time next year; a result of their close relationship with the manufacturer following their previous Ferrari Virtual Academy series.
This, then, will be the only PC racing game currently available that will let you put the La Ferrari through its paces. Previously, Forza 5 had the honor of being the first and only racing game to feature the La Ferrari – a fact that was heavily flaunted by Microsoft. It came at a premium price, however, as part of a day one DLC package.
Assetto Corsa, on the other hand, will be offering the La Ferrari free of charge as a thank you to the community for their support during the successful Early Access Steam release.
There's good reason to be excited by this announcement: with its mighty 6.3 liter, V12 engine churning out 789hp, plus a 163hp KERS unit bringing the total up to 963hp, the La Ferrari is quite simply the fastest Ferrari road car ever made. We can't wait to tame this insanely-powerful prancing horse out on the track in one of the PC's most realistic racing simulations
No in-game shots have been revealed as of yet, but rest assured there will be plenty of work-in-progress development shots of the faithfully-recreated Ferrari for us to salivate over soon.
No doubt this won't be the last we'll see of the La Ferrari in racing games: given that EA also now has access to Ferrari, chances are we'll see it make an appearance in Need for Speed: Rivals sooner or later.
