Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed the Indianapolis 500 motor race will feature in its upcoming driving game, Project CARS.

Widely regarded as one of the most prolific and important events on the autosport calender, the Indianapolis 500 IndyCar race will – according to Slightly Mad – "become an integral part of Project CARS's career mode", as well as being an "exciting place for action-packed multiplayer races and quick race events".

Along with what Slightly Mad is describing as a "true to life" recreation of the Indianapolic 'Brick Yard' oval route, the Dallara DW12 IndyCar will also feature in Project CARS, allowing players to recreate the Indy 500 race in full for the first time in an eight-gen racing game.

Slightly Mad is also claiming an "authentic racing experience" for its Indy 500 races, with aspects of real life oval IndyCar racing – such as asymetrical suspension and ballast setups, a 'push-to-pass' feature and the official rules for American oval racing all set to be simulated in Project CARS.

It's currently unknown if IndyCar events in Project CARS will be restricted only to the Indy 500 race, or if it's possible to race the Dallara DW12 single seater in other race types in the game.
