GRID Autosport is fun racing game, I particularly enjoy the intensity of the racing along with a great selection of courses. However, it always appears to cause a somewhat emotional response from fans, who either love it or hate it. Indeed, the positivity for the brand seems to have fallen away in recent times despite being one of the better racing games on the market and arguably among the finest racing games on the Nintendo Switch.

As a player who plays almost exclusively in handheld mode, I haven’t missed out on the multiplayer but it’s arrival is a welcome addition. The update also including compatibility with the Labo and the HORI Pro Deluxe/Pro Mini wheels, both adding additional forms of enjoyment. You could argue that this compatibility should have been in the launch product, yet I’ve found GRID games are often better suited to controller play. But my quibbles aside, I’m a big fan of GRID Autosport and it’s great to see Feral Interactive are still hard at work on various fixes and improvements.

You can check out my initial stream on the title here, we’ll be coming back to GRID Autosport on Switch in the coming weeks.

Netcode seems reasonably stable so far, though not many lobbies around at the moment. Hopefully Demo Derby will see some love in the coming weeks! Shame there are no weekly Racenet events like the original versions had, will be more of a slog to earn online car upgrades etc. without them.
