Grid 2 prides itself on its sheer variety of racing disciplines, offering everything from touring cars and European hot hatchbacks, to Japanese drifters and US muscle cars. And yet, strangely, there's a distinct lack of open wheel racing cars in comparison to the original Grid, which featured Formula Fords among others that were terrific fun to tame. And now we're starting to see why.
That is of course with the exception of the IndyCar pack, but Codemasters chose to restrict it as a pre-order bonus and post-release DLC.
Keen to see how open wheel cars handle in Grid 2, Alan put in some laps in the IndyCar at Brands Hatch. Unfortunately, it turns out Grid 2's somewhat sensitive handling model doesn't lend itself too well to open wheel class cars as you will discover in our hands-on video below:
And just to up the ante, Alan thought it would be a good idea to quite literally take the Indycar for a spin using a wireless wheel. It was a challenging drive, to say the least:
