Gran Turismo Sport's first World Tour exhibition race will be launched later this week, in conjunction with the real life Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race.
Featuring 30 European competitors selected by Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital, the series of race events will be hosted live at the Nurburgring, from a booth located near one of the grandstands at the fabled German motorsports venue.
No details on the car and track combinations for the events have been disclosed. It's highly likely, though, that the World Tour races will utilise Gran Turismo Sport's Group 3 cars on the Nurburgring's endurance race layout.
The Nurburgring-located World Tour will also be used to kickstart the first official FIA Gran Turismo Championships, with 'Manufacturers Cup' and 'Nations Cup' events being part of the exhibition's race lineup.
Additional details on the FIA Gran Turismo Championship and future World Tour exhibitions have yet to be officially disclosed. More information on these Gran Turismo Sport esports events, though, are anticipated to be revealed soon.
