You've probably forgotten, but the PlayStation 4 Pro is out in a matter of days. To be fair, we wouldn't blame you: the benefits of Sony's 4K console have been poorly communicated, to say the least. Existing PS4 games will apparently benefit from the extra horsepower, but we haven't seen enough demonstrations that convince us to splash out.
At an event held today in London, more details about the PS4 Pro are leaking out – including Sony's plans to support Gran Turismo Sport. It should come as no surprise given that Sony consider Gran Turismo to be the PlayStation's flagship racing game series, but Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that Gran Turismo Sport will be taking advantage of PS4 Pro's 4K and HDR capabilities as reported by GTPlanet via Greek site GameOver.gl.
A photo taken from the presentation reveals five confirmed features that Gran Turismo Sport will support on PS4 Pro: 4K, 60FPS, HDR, Wide Colour, and VR. We presume Gran Turismo Sport will use the same upscaling process as Horizon Zero Dawn to achieve 4K resolution, but the confirmation of 60fps is assuring, and we can't help but wonder how clear Gran Turismo Sport will look running on VR with a PS4 Pro compared to DriveClub VR. Factor in HDR, and we're sure Gran Turismo Sport will look very photogenic indeed.
More news from the event as we get it.
