After an extended silence since its official announcement last year, Polyphony are finally lifting the bonnet on Gran Turismo Sport at a special premiere event at the Copper Box Arena in London next week on May 29th. Fresh gameplay footage of Gran Turismo Sport will be streamed at the prestigeous event, along with new details of the series' hotly anticipated PS4 debut.
Sony will also be streaming a Pre-Season Test of FIA Gran Turismo Championship Cups – the Nations Cup Pre-Season Test and the Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test.
In a world first, those who attend the event will find nine full scale Vision GT cars and two quarter-size models on display.
The footage will be available on the PlayStation Europe and official Gran Turismo YouTube channels on the19th May, from 6.45pm BST.
The stream will be hosted by a "mix of GT and motoring experts," with the following schedule:
6.45pm BST – 7.00pm BST: Run down of the day’s events, news and a showcase of the brand new GT SPORT trailer
7.00pm BST – 8.30pm BST: Nations Cup Pre-Season Test and the Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships:
The Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test
8.30pm BST – 9.00pm BST: Trophy ceremonies [1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each cup].
Limited places will also be available for fans on the second day of the two-day event. Information on how to be in with a chance of attending will be shared soon.
The lack of news surrounding Gran Turismo Sport has been a cause for concern for fans, so the pressure will be on for Polyphony to assure fans that Gran Turismo Sport will be worth the wait. Recent rumours have suggested a possible October 2016 release to coincide with the launch of PlayStation VR, but we may find out the final release date next week, if not at E3 in early June.
