News Gran Turismo series surpasses 75 million sales milestone

Its been revealed on the official Gran Turismo website that the much-loved racing series has now achieved sales of more than 75 million copies cumulatively around the world.
Polyphony, developers of the Gran Turismo series, last posted sales figures as of March, 2013 (before the release of Gran Turismo 6) which totaled to an impressive 70,020,000. This means that in the last two and a half years or so, over 5 million Gran Turismo titles have been sold.
This doesn't of course mean that Gran Turismo 6 has sold 5 million copies, although its only logical to expect that the most recent offering from Polyphony would no doubt make up most of the series 5 million sales since Mar 2013.
Gran Turismo Sport was announced two days ago at Paris Games Week and is promised to be the "most realistic driving simulator to date". Gran Turismo Sport actually first came to our attention back in June this year after a listing for the game was posted on a Croatian retailer site.
The title for the Playstation 4 console will feature improved graphics, physics and audio as expected. There will be two online championships running simultaneously which are officially sanctioned by the FIA. The Nations Cup enables players to proudly represent their own countries and the Manufacturers Cup will give players the opportunity to drive for their favourite car manufacturers.
