The founder and owner of Polyphony Digital (the developer of the famous Gran Turismo series), Kazunori Yamauchi, has revealed some details about the much anticipated Gran Turismo 7 title including the fact that we should all be playing the game before 2017 which should settle some growing fears.

Yamauchi recently took a trip to Paris to attend an official Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo event. At the event some journalists were able to ask Yamauchi about the yet-to-be announced Gran Turismo 7 title. Italian based Spaziogames asked about the rumoured 2017 release window which Yamauchi denied was true stating (via some questionable translation) – "People will not wait for ever so much." adding "We are talking about Gran Turismo, not have to wait so long."

Yamauchi also revealed some details on Gran Turismo 7's damage model. The latest game in the long-running series will apparently solve many of the problems associated with the game's physical impacts and simulation of damage which should come as great news for fans worldwide. Finally, Yamauchi has confirmed that there will be more premium cars added to Gran Turismo 7 which, to be fair, is stating the blinding obvious right there.

So far there has been no confirmation about Kazunori Yamauchi or Polyphony attending this year's E3 event so its probably best not to hold your breath for an official announcement, but we can always hope.

What are you hoping to see in the new Gran Turismo title?
