With so much of our E3 video coverage documenting Forza Motorsport 5 at this moment in time, you'd be forgiven for thinking we've neglected its arch-but-not-exactly-direct rival, Gran Turismo 6.
All that's changed, now, as we've finally got hold of an off-camera film reel of the Sony booth's GT6 demo in action. And, best of all, we believe it's one of the first Gran Turismo 6 gameplay videos to feature direct audio.
As such, whilst the game is still in development, the clip gives us an oppurtunity to take in and evaluate the alterations and improvements that have been made to Gran Turismo's sound effects.
It should be an easy job, though, as there doesn't appear to be anything radically different in comparison with what GT5 brought to the table three years ago.
Even the track doesn't appear to have had that large a makeover, with most of Grand Valley looking just as it does on Gran Turismo 5.
We are still at least six months away from GT6 eventually going on sale, though, and past experience with GT5 videos has taught us that what we see on game show demos isn't always 100% representative of what the final product will look like.
As a result, whilst it's looking like Polyphony Digital won't be introducing many revolutionary new ideas and concepts to the franchise, we'll still be keeping a very close eye on the PlayStation 3's swansong racing title…
