Bertone suffered some very hard times in 2013 and they had to declare themselves bankrupt in April last year. Because of this the future of the Bertone Vision GT car was on extremely thin ice. Licensing rights to the brand were sold on to a company called Bertone Design which prompted some hope in that the Bertone Vision GT car would see the light of day at some point.
However seeing that the car has been removed from the official page is all but confirmation that the car has indeed been scrapped sadly. Last month, GTPlanet asked head of Polyphony Kazunori Yamauchi about the current state of the Bertoni Vision GT car to which Yamauchi replied: “The company has gone now, so it’s really difficult. It’s really unfortunate – we had high expectations from the design.”
Screenshots of the Bertone Vision GT concept car originally leaked back in March this year, they appeared on a car design fan Facebook page somewhat randomly. On the subject of Vision Gran Turismo cars, we recently learned that all of the existing concept cars will receive detailed interiors at some point.
Were you looking forward to driving the Bertone Vision GT car?
