News Google Stadia launches on November 19

Google’s upcoming game streaming platform Stadia will launch on November 19, 2019, at 5 pm UK time.

For £119/$129 you’ll get the “Founder’s Edition” (available exclusively on the Google Store) which will grant you access to Stadia at launch along with three months of Stadia Pro for yourself and a friend, ChromeCast Ultra (for 4K, HDR, and 60 fps streaming), and a pretty swanky Night Blue Stadia controller (exclusive to the Founder’s Edition).

Google Stadia gives players the chance to play their favourite games without having to buy a console – simply buy the games you want and play them on your favourite devices (TV, laptop, and select tablets and smartphones). This is achieved by Stadia utilising Google’s powerful data centres which enable games to run at high fidelity.

Google Stadia should also eliminate downloads and patches although it remains to be seen how well the platform will run in the real-world with less than optimal internet speeds.

Founder’s Edition owners will already have Destiny 2: The Collection waiting for them to play as a free bonus. The regular Stadia Pro subscription and the free Stadia Base versions are expected to launch at a later date.
