Iceberg Interactive has revealed that combat racer Gas Guzzlers Extreme, developed by Gamepires, will be released on Xbox One this week on November 4th. It's currently available to pre-order on the Xbox Games Store for £19.99/$24.99. A PS4 version is expected to be released next year in late Q2.

Originally released on PC in 2013, Gas Guzzlers Extreme includes 12 over-the-top game modes, 42 extreme tracks, 12 varying arenas, 8 different environments, 21 customizable and upgradable cars with 12 unique weapon types. The Full Metal Zombie and Full Metal Frenzy DLC packs previously released for the Steam version will also be included, adding a zombie-themed survival mode where you have to collect power-ups to take out zombies.

Combat racers have been in short supply this generation, so the release of Gas Guzzlers Extreme should satisfy your cravings for vehiclar carnage – at least until the much-anticipated console release of Wreckfest next year.

We recently went hands-on with Gas Guzzlers Extreme at this year's EGX show, and while the combat racing was fun and gloriously OTT, the performance was in need of some serious optimisation with frequent frame rate stutters hampering the experience as you can see in the video above. Hopefully these issues have been resolved in time for the release this week.
