R8 Games has today released their futuristic racer Formula Fusion for the PC with console versions to follow thereafter.
Formula Fusion is set in the near-future world of competitive AG combat racing and features twisting and looping kinetic racing tracks across many different landscapes.
Formula Fusion features design from the Designers Republic (fronted by ex-WipEout 3 developer Andrew Walker) and runs on the Unreal Engine 4. The futuristic racer will see you racing in eight different themed tracks, and thanks to night, day and reverse variants, you can expect no less than 30 tracks.
Customisation is a huge focus in Formula Fusion, each of the five craft types have their own handling characteristics and arsenal of deadly and defensive weapons.
“Formula Fusion truly represents the culmination of our vision to bring the spirit of classic anti-gravity combat racers to modern platforms,” said Andrew Walker, Head of R8 Studios. “With the visionary input of Ian Anderson and the Designers Republic, we’ve created something that has resonated strongly with new and existing fans of the genre. We’re also incredibly proud to have created a game featuring graphics and mechanics which many have said goes far beyond the size and experience of our small studio. We’ve got huge plans for Formula Fusion, and this is just the beginning.”
Formula Fusion’s single player campaign mode will see you climb the ranks to ultimately battle against “The Beast”, but also has a heavy focus on the online action with online races for up to 10 players. Extensive league and tournament features will also be added to the online component shortly according to R8 Games.
Formula Fusion is available now on Steam for £14.99.
