Following the recent Evo VI reveal, Slightly Mad Studios keep the goodies coming with the news that no less than 4 Nissan Skyline/GT-Rs will be heading to Project CARS 2.

Hasemi Motorsport DR30 Skyline project cars 2

The first of the four cars will be familiar to old-school Gran Turismo fans. The Group 5 Hasemi Motorsport DR30 Skyline competed in the Japanese Super Silhouette series between 1979-1984. This car certainly stands out thanks to all of its rather wild aerodynamic fins and wings which gives it an aggressive and purposeful look.

The DR30 had close to 600 bhp and weighed just 1000kgs which made the wheels spin up in almost every gear. The side-exit exhaust wow crowds by constantly spitting large flames on each and every downshift and upshift, making this a true flame-thrower on wheels.

Slightly Mad Studios has also confirmed their own “SMS” tuned R34 Skyline will make it into Project CARS 2. The SMS R34 came about after the development team struggled to find a unmodified R34 to use as a reference model. After some thought, Slightly Mad decided to shift their focus to a modified version which they feel better represents the model.

The SMS R34 is a homage to JDM, so we can expect big turbos and flame-spitting exhausts no doubt. The car comes with a selection of different liveries from RSR, HKS, Advan and Takata (as seen in the gallery below).

The R35 will also be heading to Project CARS 2 with its powerful 3.8 litre twin-turbo VR38DETT V6 engine which produces 480 bhp. The R35 is the last GT-R released currently which does away with the Skyline name.

The version in Project CARS 2 is the 2017 GT-R Nismo version which just happens to be the most powerful R35 ever created. Thanks to its 600 bhp, the car is able to hit 60mph in under 3 seconds and will keep accelerating until it hits a top speed of just shy of 200 mph.

Last, but by no means least, the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 race car will also take its place in the Project CARS 2 car roster. The GT-R Nismo GT3 pushes 500 bhp which powers the rear wheels only – making it the first GT-R to ditch all-wheel drive in three decades.

Project CARS 2 is currently scheduled for a “late 2017” release and will be available across the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
