Microsoft have announced that Forza Motorsport 6 Apex's open beta will begin on the PC on May 5.
Forza Motorsport 6 Apex will become the very first Forza title to release on PC with all future Forza titles on the Xbox One expected to also release on the PC platform. The open beta will initially not support racing wheels but plans are in place to patch in support later in the beta period.
Forza Motorsport 6 Apex will be a free to play title which will only feature single player content. The bite-sized PC version will take advantage of DirectX 12 technology and can be played with resolutions running up to 4K. Micro transactions are confirmed for Apex, with Turn 10 have stating that it is not a micro transaction driven game but instead allows players to make their way through the game much quicker.
Apex will feature 63 cars, 20 track configurations spread across six locales and wet-weather and night racing has also been confirmed. The PC version of Forza Motorsport 6 will also take advantage of Windows 10 features such as accessing friends and achievements lists, text and voice chat via Xbox Live and you can record and share your video clips with built-in Game DVR.
