Triple screen setups are a commonplace for PC racing game enthusiasts allowing for maximum immersion, but it's not quite as straight forward for console users as you normally need three consoles and three copies of the same game to run in a triple screen configuration. Some games don't support it at all, however – Forza Motorsport 5, for example, is seen as the current benchmark of console racing simulation, and yet it doesn't support the use of triple screens.

While triple screens aren't supported in the retail version of Forza Motorsport 5, a special demo featuring the newly-announced Nurburgring was set up at E3 to showcase how the game could run in this set up, and the results were spectacular. The same demo was also on display at this year's Gamescom, so we hopped on to show you what could have been.

The only problem was that the driving skills of some of the attendees at Gamescom left a lot to be desired – one player apparently didn't understand the concept of force feedback, and was shocked when the wheel started to vibrate and turn of its own accord. So we enlisted a man from Turn10 to show us how it's done. Watch as he makes hamming a 727bhp McLaren P1 round the world's most notorious racetrack in a commendable display of car control, whilst casually chewing gum like a boss.
