Release Date: 02/10/2018

New details on Forza Horizon 4’s Fortune Island expansion have been revealed, ahead of the DLC’s release next week.

In the new expansion (which developer Playground Games is touting as the largest DLC it’s created for a Forza Horizon game), players will take part in a sort of car-based treasure hunt on the eponymous Fortune Island. Treasure chests will be hidden across the terrain, with riddles providing cryptic clues to their whereabouts.

“Dozens of new events” will be included in the expansion too, including a new form of Trailblazer point-to-point PR challenges. A new “Drift Club 2.0” Horizon Story questline will also be featured, which will follow on from the Drift Club missions included in the base game.

In addition to the new gameplay elements, 10 new vehicles will be included in the expansion, with the wording of the statement suggesting at least some will be treasure chest loot. Befitting the extreme terrain of Fortune Island, a majority of the vehicles are off-road biased, though there are more conventional road cars such as the Morris Minor Traveller estate and the current BMW M5 super saloon.

The full car list for the Fortune Island expansion have been added below. Entries in bold are brand new to the Forza series.

  • 1953 Morris Minor Traveller
  • 2002 Koenigsegg CC8S
  • 2010 Saleen S5S Raptor
  • 2012 Lamborghini Aventador J
  • 2015 “Hoonigan Gymkhana 8” Ford Fiesta ST RX43
  • 2017 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Concept
  • 2018 BMW M5
  • 2018 Exomotive Exocet Off-Road
  • 2018 Funco Motorsports F9
  • 2019 Lamborghini Urus

As stated previously, Forza Horizon 4’s Fortune Island expansion will feature some of the most extreme terrain to ever feature in a Forza game, ranging from “the longest paved mountain switchback road in Forza Horizon history” to trails on the edge of sheer cliff faces. Players will also be able to witness dramatic weather effects like lightning storms and the Aurora Borealis.

Forza Horizon 4’s Fortune Island expansion will be released on 13th December 2018, and is included in the game’s Expansion Pass bundle. Owners of the Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition will have automatic access to the Fortune Island DLC when it’s released.
