Everyone's favourite miniature racing series is coming back with the release of Micro Machines World Series for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 23.

Today marks the first time we've seen gameplay of the tile courtesy of the new trailer which showcases the battle mode in action, see the chaos for yourself below.

The battle mode puts up to 12 players into the same arena for some crazy competitive multiplayer gaming which include modes such as capture the flag and territory along with a 6v6 player team deathmatch which sound delightfully deadly.

Besides the new Battle Mode, the standard race and elimination modes also make their return of course. Elsewhere, Micro Machines World Series also features a Team Play mode which enables you to work together with others in events such as King of the Hill and Capture the Flag.

The miniature racer will support up to 12 players online and four players can play simultaneously via split-screen local multiplayer. The combat racer has 12 vehicles, each with their own arsenal of weapons and abilities, not to mention customisation options.
