Fresh from yesterday's unexpected unveil, the first shower of Forza Horizon 2 screenshots ave poured in, showcasing the rain effects and glistening graphics, whilst revealing a handful of cars set to appear in the open world sequel.
The screenshots provide the first glimpse of Forza Horizon 2's Southern Europe setting. While they're not distinctive enough to identify locations, it seems we can look forward to driving across cobbled streets, mountain roads and smash through copious country fences.
It goes without saying that the visuals are jaw-dropping, and we look forward to seeing the rain effects showcased in motion – one of Forza Horizon 2's distinguishing new features. Memories of Project Gotham Racing 4's rain effects, which were groundbreaking for their time, are flooding back.
The screenshots also confirm the inclusion of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Ferrari F12berlinetta, Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster and Subaru Impreza, along with the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4.
It's also come to light that Sumo Digital will be working on the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 which will use the first game's graphic engine as a "baseline", while Playground Games drive the Xbox One version.
