It's no secret that Codemasters are on F1 2016, and while an official announcement still hasn't been made apart from the confirmation that it's in development, some F1 2016 screenshots have been released into the wild via F1 journalist Gianlu D'Alessandro on Twitter.
Since these F1 2016 screenshots haven't been shared by Codemasters they're not very high resolution, but they do confirm return of the safety car, which was notably abscent in F1 2015.
A recent community event also confirmed that the career mode is back in a big way, letting you create your own driver and rise the ranks – F1 2015 only let you play as official drivers. YouTuber xMattyG1 attended the event and praised the new career mode for its immersion, but of course wasn't allowed to disclose any more details. Wet weather effects are also said to have improved.
That's all we know about F1 2016 for now, but with E3 just around the corner we shouldn't have too long to wait for the official announcement from Codemasters.
Despite its dashing good looks, F1 2015 received scathing reviews criticising its lack of career mode and erratic physics. You can read our own thoughts in our F1 2015 review.
