News Fast paced racer Mantis Burn out on Steam Early Access coming soon to consoles

Indie developer VooFoo Studios have launched their fast-paced top-down retro racer Mantis Burn on Steam’s Early Access programme and have also announced that the title will be skidding its way over to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles later this year.

Mantis Burn Racing features a career mode, four-player local split screen and eight player multiplayer. Vehicles are fully customisable and upgradable and are divided into one of three vehicle types: dune-buggies, road-racers and 6-wheeler trucks.

“We’re delighted to be bringing Mantis Burn Racing to PC and consoles,” said Mark Williams, Technology Director at VooFoo Studios. “The pedigree of our studio and our success has allowed us to create a game we believe will be one of the best looking and most immersive in its genre. We’re really excited to welcome fans into Early Access to gain the feedback which will help us shape the game’s development.”

There only seems to be two environment types in Mantis Burn Racing: the sand dunes of the imaginatively named Sand Town and the city streets of New Shangri-la. It’s unknown how many tracks are in the game from these two environments but tracks are said to have reverse variants to boost the tally.

VooFoo Studios plan to release regular content updates for Mantis Burn Racing during its early access phase, and we can also expect post-launch add-on DLC both free and paid.
