The wait for a first party racing game is nearly for patient PS4 players, as DriveClub will finally be pulling up in less than a months' time. Having now gone gold, Evolution Studios has disclosed details regarding the required disk space installation.
DriveClub will require 17GB of disk space, regardless of whether you get the full retail version or the free PS Plus Edition. While this may sound like a hefty chunk, it's not too bad when you consider Killzone: Shadow Fall ate up a whopping 40GB of precious hard-drive space.
Indeed, for a game with such preposterously pretty visuals, it's a surprisingly small install size, but the game would be bigger than a single layer Blu-Ray if it was uncompressed according to Game Director Paul Rustchynsky. No visual compromises were made to achieve this, however, and the upshot is that we can expect fast loading times as a result:
@OmegaSaiyanX It'd be bigger than a single layer blu-ray. Compressing the data has massively helped with load times & with no compromise.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that DriveClub will have its own exclusive soundtrack, which Evolution hope to release:
@TONYSNIFF It's an exclusive soundtrack for DRIVECLUB. We'll hopefully get to release it after launch.
