Poor PS4 players have been patiently waiting for DriveClub following its delay until early 2014, but a titbit from the Italian Official PlayStation magazine has hinted that the wait could be even longer than we were originally led to believe. According to a recent FaceBook update on their page, DriveClub could now be due in June: "We like the ‘hunch’ that Driveclub will arrive in June, but you do not tell anyone…" it reads.
It's an oddly off-the-cuff remark for an official magazine, particularly as they don't cite any sources, so it's difficult how to interpret this. Still, all should be revealed soon as Sony has stated that the official release date for DriveClub will soon be revealed to put us out of our misery. Given the lack of promotion DriveClub has received since its delay for a game that is meant to be out early this year, it wouldn't surprise me if the final release date did land in June, sadly.
Indeed, the lack of gameplay videos showing off DriveClub's unbridled beauty lately is startling, so we tend to analyse every snippet of new videos we can salvage in minute detail. Luckily, this latest leaked video does that job for us.
This new DriveClub video is particularly interesting: not only does it feature fresh footage of the cars and UI, but it apparently wasn't meant for public distribution. It's an internal video that breaks down Evolution's brand strategies, covering everything from logos and typography (ALWAYS BOLD AND UPPERCASE FOR EFFECT), to the deliberate use of de-saturation and shaky cam to make the game feel more authentic and gritty.
