News DiRT 4 video shows Dealership, Joy Ride, DiRT Academy & more

With the June 9 release date of DiRT 4 getting ever nearer, it’s fair to say that the excitement is beginning to grow.

PlayStation Access were lucky enough to get their hands on a preview version of the upcoming dirt racer and have shared a gameplay video which gives us a look at several aspects of the title.

The much-touted “Your Stage” feature is on show in the preview video (seen below) which enables players to generate stages based upon two sliders: length and complexity. We also get a look at some of the cars present in DiRT 4 which includes both modern and classic examples.

The DiRT Academy can be seen at the three minute mark, here you’ll learn the basics of weight transfer by using steering, brakes and the accelerator to manipulate where the weight of the car shifts. One minute later, we get a glimpse of the “Joyride” mode which is somewhat of a replacement to the Gymkhana mode found in previous titles and offers a brief respite to the more serious action.

We also get a quick look at the tuning menu which has a decent amount of options, we get to witness the various classes of vehicle found within the dealership (where cars will not always be available), a brief look at some visual customisation options, and the repair screen found between stages.
