News DiRT 4 gameplay emerges showing several game modes

The surprise announcement of DiRT 4 came with a teaser trailer which barely showed any gameplay footage leaving us somewhat in the dark.

Luckily the very first gameplay videos are now coming to light thanks to the wonderful world of the internet. One such video sees YouTube channel Erased Citizens provide some gameplay footage of DiRT 4 (thanks to a recent DiRT 4 press vent) along with some early impressions.

The pre-alpha gameplay footage (seen below running on a stock PlayStation 4) gives us look at an Australian stage (from the perspectives of the cockpit view and chase cam of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI), the stage creator screen (which includes length and complexity sliders, which you can adjust before hitting the generate button to keep things simple), and we see some dirt racing from the bonnet cam.

The guys at Erased Citizens also mention that DiRT 4 has two different handling modes. There’s the normal mode and a more serious simulation mode which will add extra challenge for those looking for it. At one point the Evolution VI flips on to its roof so it looks like we can have some spectacular crashes if we happen to push too hard which is good to see.
