The first ever clip of F1 2018 gameplay has been published by developer Codemasters.
Depicting Sauber driver Charles Leclerc completing a hot lap around the Monaco street circuit, the new footage is expectedly light on details. However, some features can be potentially inferred from the video – with engine audio that's eerily similar to what's heard during televised Formula One Grand Prix being perhaps the most obvious element.
Additional aspects also appear to be far more subtle, such as the apparent removal of the steering wheel judder animation from F1 2018. Lighting effects appear to be crisper and more defined over F1 2017 too, though that could be as a result of this F1 2018 development build running on a powerful system.
F1 2018 is scheduled for release on 24th August 2018 across the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. More details on and gameplay footage of the game are expected to be published in the coming months.
