Codemasters Racing has soft-launched its all-new mobile driving game, 'Drive USA', on the Singapore iTunes Store, for the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad decices.
Whilst Codemasters is no stranger to making small titles that are compatible with smartphones and tablet devices – the studio ported Colin McRae: Rally to iOS devices in June last year – 'Drive USA' is a pretty big departure from the norm, for one major reason: it's the first time Codies has made a 'runner game'.
To keep players hooked, various power-ups, cars and cheesily profiled charicature avatars – such as "Jill Harper, the getaway driver who drives like she stole it" – can be unlocked in the game, with the latter two presumably only being made available once enough "Gizmo Coins" have been accumulated,
No word on when (if ever) Drive USA will make it onto the world's other iTunes marketplaces, though we'll be keeping this story updated should anything else about the new, novel mobile racing game emerge from the Codemasters PR department.
