Codemasters Racing is working on new entries in the Dirt and Grid franchises, according to a new job listing.
As stated on the Graphics Programmer vacancy listed on the Codemasters Blog, the successful applicant will be assigned to tasks linked to future Dirt and Grid games.
The announcement is significant in that it's the first time Codemasters has explicitly mentioned a Dirt game is in the works. Prior to this job listing, only subtle hints on social media and comments by Codemasters insiders have alluded to the existence of a potential sequel to Dirt 3.
Codemasters' most recent entry in the Dirt series was Dirt: Showdown, a spin-off title released in 2012 which focused more on destruction derby-style events than the special stages seen in the core Dirt games. It's believed the next Dirt game will return to the franchise's rallying roots, rather than stick to the template seen in Showdown.
