Carmageddon Reincarnation has received a special Christmas update adding some new crazy cars to mercilessly mow down pedestrians with.
The third update introduces players to the Blitzkrieger, the first tracked wheel to feature in the game driven by recurring character Heinz Faust. As such, the Heinz Faust is an updated version of the tracked vehicle from the first Carmageddon. Both share design inspirations from Mercedes – the original was quite obviously based on a Mercedes SLK, whereas the updated car seems to be based on a modern Mercedes SLS.
Also featured is the Shredlight, a vintage convertible sports car complete with bonnet-mounted spikes to impale peds and tyre-shredding wheel spinners.
You can see Carmageddon Reincarnation's new larger than life cars in action in the gore-infested trailer below.
Furthermore, the update improves the damage modelling where anything that can cause complete vehicle deformation such as driving through mines causes the chassis to twist along with a few bug fixes. You can find the complete changelog below.

Dual Core Machine Garage Freeze
In the last update we had a few reports of the Garage freezing for players using a Dual Core machine. This should now be fixed! Join us in Multiplayer over the Holiday Season to give the changes a good thrashing too!
Oh, and if you were thinking of getting Carmageddon Reincarnation, now might be a good time – just in time for the Christmas season, Carmageddon Reincarnation is currently half price as part of Steam's Winter sale.
