Criterion Games have confirmed that they have no plans for adding their 2006 re-released and critically acclaimed Burnout Revenge title to Microsoft's ever expanding list of backwards compatible titles.

Responding to a fan on Twitter who asked “is Burnout Revenge coming to Xone backwards compatibility?” Criterion replied “No plans for that right now”. You can view the comment below.

This may come as a surprise to many as Burnout Paradise has already been confirmed for backwards compatibility on the Xbox One last month. This of course made many existing fans happy, and its inclusion should breed new fans for the open-world racer which released all the way back in 2008. A backwards compatible version of Burnout Paradise for the Xbox One console however still has no release date.

Burnout fans can also look forward to a spiritual successor to Burnout 3: Takedown. The still as yet unnamed game is currently under development by Three Fields Entertainment which includes two of the co-founders of Criterion Games.
