The all-new BMW M4 Coupe has made its inaugural appearance in a racing game, courtesy of the latest update patch for Gran Turismo 6.
Thanks to a partnership between BMW and Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital, the M4 Coupe is now available for GT6 players to sample in the game, long before the motoring press get to experience the twin-turbocharged Bavarian brute for themselves.
Polyphony is also marking the occasion with a special "BMW M4 Coupe Superlap" Seasonal Event, appropriately set at the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit.
The Seasonal Event itself will remain open until the 26th December, and players who aren't quite endowed with in-game credits will still be able to take part in the M4 Coupe Superlap challenge by 'renting' the car in the game.
As stated in the official press statement, Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi is immensely proud of his racing game being the virtual launch pad for one of the most anticipated performance cars of 2014: "“It is always wonderful to be able to bring to life a brand new car and I would like to thank BMW for trusting us with all of the data we needed to create the BMW M4 Coupé at such an early stage."
"The car is fantastic. I felt very privileged to have a few laps around Ascari during the Gran Turismo 6 launch event and I am sure that Gran Turismo fans will now enjoy the same experience as well as the novelty of being among the first in the world to try the BMW M4 Coupé.”
