A selection of licenced performance cars and cop chases will be coming to Battlefield: Hardline, according to a leaked internal presentation trailer.

Judging from what's been shown in the footage, it appears the upcoming spin-off for the Battlefield first person shooter series (referred to in the video through the codename "Omaha") will allow players to partake in high-speed cop chases across "huge open environments" in the game's "Hotwire" mode.

More interestingly for us is that two real world muscle cars – a Dodge Challenger and what looks like a fifth-gen Ford Mustang – also appear to make brief cameos in the trailer, suggesting Hardline will be the first Battlefield game to feature licenced vehicles that aren't currently used by the world's armed forces or constabulary.

Lincoln's MKZ saloon seems to be part of Hardline's car roster, though the visual details (most notably the incorrect design and positioning of the front headlights) implies this is either an incomplete rendering, or just a fictional car that's been penned by developer Visceral's design team.

Battlefield: Hardline is an upcoming first person shooter cum spin-off to the Battlefield series, and is being co-created by DICE and Visceral Games. More information on Hardline is expected to be announced at E3 in two weeks' time.
