With the much anticipated release of Christopher Nolan's conclusion to The Dark Knight trilogy set to obliterate the box office this week, it seems appropiate to look back at Batman's most faithful crime fighting tool: the Batmobile.
A new documentary will chronicle the eclectic evolution of the iconic Batmobile, spanning everything from its inception in the 1939 comic series and the George Barris Batmobile from the 1966 TV series, right up to the modern-day military monster known as the Tumbler that has graced Nolan's Oscar-winning film trilogy.
Interviews with Batman movie directors Christopher Nolan, Joel Schumacher and Tim Burton will delve deeper into the Batmobile's conception, whereas actors such as Adam West and Christian Bale recall their hands-on experiences.
All will be revealed when the documentary is released via digital download and Blu-Ray towards in December. The Dark Knight Rises also hits cinemas this Friday on July 20th (not that you probably needed reminding), which is tipped to once again feature a spectacular chase sequence involving the Batmobile and, presumably, copious amounts of property destruction.
