Polyphony Digital has confirmed the legendary Mount Panorama Circuit – more commonly known as 'Bathurst' – will feature in Gran Turismo 6.

Following in the wake of similar Forza Motorsport 5 and iRacing announcements, Polyphony claims that GT6's version of Bathurst will be the most accurate and realistic version we've seen to date on the PlayStation 3, stating in the official press release that "next generation" rendering technology and the studio's famed fastidious attention to detail ensures PD's version will be a "virtual carbon-copy" of the real-world Bathurst.

Polyphony CEO Kazunori Yamauchi also revealed he and his team are "very pleased" to confirm Mount Panorama as one of GT6's seven all-new tracks to the Gran Turismo franchise, going on to say "it seems only right that the legendary Mount Panorama circuit is included as fans will now have a chance to drive one of the toughest tracks out there…that will provide an exciting new challenge for PlayStation gamers.”

To top the announcement off, a new batch of preview screenshots and a short trailer of GT6's Bathurst have been released, the former you can see below.
