Fans of old-school topdown racers could be in for at treat next month, as Digital Reality's Bang Bang Racing blasts onto PC, PSN and XBLA in June.
Originally released on Android platforms last year, Bang Bang Racing features 20 cute cars, 9 twisty tracks (including an obvious homage to Monaco) and vibrant visuals with a disctinctly retro feel thanks to its top-down viewpoint.
Like the fictitious tracks, Bang Bang Racing's minature motors are unlicensed, but closely resemble their real life counterparts – from the screenshots released, we can deter references to the Aston Martin DBR9, Dodge Challenger and Lamborghini Murcielago among others.
As you can probably glean from the trailer, the emphasis is on speed, boosting and avoiding hazards whilst discovering shorcuts littered throughout the tracks. Not exactly original, no, but the PSN and XBLA is surprisingly lacking when it comes to worthy top-down racers which could give Bang Bang Racing the edge.
While a bit too geared towards the family-friendly market, Bang Bang Racing looks to be a fun, accessable racer that harkens back to the good ol' days of Micro Machines. Check it out on June 6th on XBLA and June 13th on PSN.
